Students at Chatswood High School are given the opportunity to explore their passions, express their creativity and challenge themselves through computing at the various stages of their learning.
A specially designed year 7 IT skills course introduces students to a variety of software, from the practical functions in Microsoft Office tools to the fun and creative opportunities in graphic creation and animation, as well as new and emerging technologies, like 3D printing.
In year 9 and 10 students have the elective choice of Information and Software Technology (IST) that develops their skills in units such as graphics, web design and development, film-making, interactive multimedia, robotics and programming.
For theory preliminary and HSC years students at Chatswood High have a selection of three computing-based subjects including Information Processes and Technology, Software Design and Development and Industrial Technology: Multimedia Technologies. This variety allows students to focus on their particular passions, whether it be databases and information systems, coding, or 3D animation, preparing them will knowledge and skills in industry standard tools.
For all years, our emphasis on creativity in computing has engaged students of all abilities and interests and has enabled many students to commence rewarding careers in related industries.
