Selective Stream
Chatswood High School is a partially Selective High School with a maximum of 60 Selective students enrolled in each year group.
Applications for entry into Year 7 Selective stream are made through the High Performing Students Unit. Applications close November two years prior to Year 7.
Applications for entry into the Years 8 to 11 Selective Stream at are made directly to the school between late June and late July each year for placement starting in Years 8-11 the following year.
Conditiona may apply to non citizens or permanent residents of Australia or citizens of New Zealand. Review the conditions at Visa subclasses and enrolment conditions

Chatswood High School uses an online application form, requests additional documents and holds an entrance test which all applicants are required to sit for consideration of placement in 2026.

Some vacancies at Chatswood High School in Years 8 to 11 may become available but this usually depends on the number of students who have left the school.
It is important to note:
Chatswood High School
- may have no vacancies in some years
- will create reserve lists in case of future vacancies
- cannot establish additional places in any year group
