Social Science
The Social Sciences Faculty introduces students to arts, humanities, civics and citizenship as well as social education. Our faculty is united with other faculties in pursuing academic excellence. Opportunities exist for all students to achieve their potential through a range of subjects and activities. Learning in our courses occurs both within and outside of the classroom.
In years 7-10, we offer Geography, Commerce and Media Power. These courses develops student’s sense of the importance of being an informed, responsible and active citizen. The excursions organised to reinforce the concepts studied in class include:
- Ferndale Park Bushwalk
- Taronga Zoo
- Luna Park
- RBA, NSW Parliament House and the Justice and Police Museum
In Years 11-12, we offer seven courses: Business Studies, Economics, Geography, Legal Studies, Society and Culture, VET Business Services and VET Financial Services. These courses enable students to discuss current issues and actively contribute to society. The excursions organised to reinforce the concepts studied in class include:
- Green Square
- The Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest
- RBA
- Local Business Presentations
- Law Day Out
- HSC Revision Sessions
