Growth and Attainment
The Growth and Attainment team at Chatswood High School works alongside students, families and teachers to ensure every learner is known, valued and supported. We focus on strengthening core literacy and numeracy skills, closing learning gaps, and building students’ confidence so they can experience success across all key learning areas. Our work combines targeted intervention, in-class support, and close collaboration with classroom teachers and external agencies to provide the right support at the right time.
Support that fits your child's needs
Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments that suit each child’s needs.
- Targeted small-group programs in literacy and numeracy to build core skills and address specific learning gaps
- In-class support and co-teaching to help students access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
- Individualised learning plans, with clear goals and adjustments developed in partnership with families and students
- Assessment and data analysis to identify students’ strengths, areas for growth and appropriate next steps
- Short-term intervention for students who need a “boost” at key transition points
- Collaboration with external services (e.g. counsellors, therapists and health professionals) to ensure a coordinated approach to student learning and wellbeing
- Support for exam and assessment provisions, including rest breaks, small-group settings and other reasonable adjustments where required
Adjustments are planned with parents and carers. They are reviewed regularly and changed when needed. If you think your child may need extra help, contact us.
